Who this assessment is for
This consultation is designed for students, graduates and career changers who have received a written internship, Praktikum, traineeship or structured graduate-programme agreement connected with work in Germany. It is most useful before signature, while questions can still be raised with the employer or educational institution.
What we examine
We read the full agreement in advance and compare its clauses with the context you provide. The assessment covers:
- whether the wording describes a mandatory or voluntary internship;
- named learning aims, assigned duties and supervision;
- gross remuneration, payment dates and expense clauses;
- weekly hours, breaks, overtime language and annual leave;
- probation, fixed term, ordinary notice and immediate termination;
- confidentiality, intellectual property and post-contract restrictions;
- repayment clauses for training costs or other benefits;
- references to collective agreements, company policies or attachments.
During the call, we distinguish an unusual clause from one that simply needs context. We do not promise a particular employer response, and we do not rewrite the agreement as if acting for either party.
The delivery sequence
1. Scope confirmation
Send an initial enquiry with the placement type, expected start date and your main concern. Do not attach the agreement at this stage. We confirm whether the document fits the service and provide secure handover instructions.
2. Advance reading
The signed-off booking includes review of one agreement of up to 20 pages, supplied at least two German business days before the appointment. Relevant schedules may be included within that limit. German- or English-language agreements are accepted.
3. Consultation
The 60-minute session takes place by video or at our Frankfurt office. We work from status and compensation through to exit provisions, leaving time for the clauses you marked as priorities.
4. Written issue list
Within one business day, you receive a concise note recording key observations, unanswered factual points and suggested questions to raise. It is an assessment aid, not a legal opinion or a replacement contract.
Preparation and limits
Bring proof that an internship is compulsory where relevant, such as the applicable study regulations, plus any written offer information that changes the agreement’s meaning. Remove unnecessary passport, bank, health and third-party personal data.
The fixed fee includes one agreement and one consultation. It excludes correspondence with the employer, negotiations, works-council engagement, litigation, visa or residence questions, payroll calculations and tax advice. If a point requires a German Rechtsanwalt, tax adviser or immigration specialist, we identify that boundary plainly.
Fee and next step
The fixed fee is €195 including VAT. Payment arrangements are confirmed after scope acceptance; this website does not process payments. Request a consultation with enough time for the two-business-day pre-read before your signing deadline.
